Working with Adam was a fruitful and joyful experience, his unique ability to process sounds from everyday life created a rich and intriguing result, setting the backdrop for a performance that took place inside a former washing machine factory, as part of the 16th Lyon Biennale.
...in which five sunny-tempered dancers (plus the gifted one man band Adam Liston) played with rhythm.
Adam is a gifted artist in his own right first and foremost. He then uses his ability to connect and listen in collaboration, resulting in exciting and moving work. In ‘Searching for the Dead’ he carefully weaves song and soundscape together. He multi-tasks in performance, experimenting with live sounds and mixing those into the work live. There is a genius and generosity to his work resulting in me returning to work with him over and over again.
